What Should I Expect?
From start to finish, one of our qualified technicians will guide you throughout the treatment.
During Whole Body CRYOtherapy you will be asked to change into appropriate clothing, which we will provide, before stepping into our CRYOsauna for a 3 minute exposure to dry cold. You will be able to stop the treatment at any point you wish and will immediately feel energised, refreshed and relieved of pain.
Our CRYOfacial is longer but is a very relaxing treatment lasting for 10 minutes.
Local CRYOtherapy treatments last between 3 and 5 minutes, providing an intense cold that can be adjusted according to individual preference.
What should I wear?
You can come to your appointment however you feel comfortable.
For Whole Body CRYOtherapy; clean socks, shoes, gloves and dressing gowns will be provided. Men can wear either boxers or compression shorts, if needed we can provide a towel as an alternative. Women can wear undergarments (optional) in the chamber. The most important thing is that all clothing is dry, if needed please ask our staff for a towel.
For a CRYOfacial you do not need to remove your makeup or even get changed, appointments are quick and convenient with maximum benefits!
How long is an appointment?
Each appointment is for 15 minutes to allow time for changing.
Will it be comfortable?
The treatments are very short and you are exposed to a ‘dry’ cold, which makes it very tolerable. You may feel slight tingling towards the end of the Whole Body CRYOtherapy treatment, which will stop immediately when you exit the sauna.
Is it dangerous?
No. The liquid nitrogen that is used to cool our devices never comes into contact with your skin. A trained technician will be present throughout the treatment to monitor your comfort and provide any assistance needed.
Will it be ok to work out after a treatment?
Although your core body temperature will not drop during the 3 minute Whole Body CRYOtherapy treatment, it may start to cool a couple of degrees after exiting the sauna due to your body’s heat loss. To stabilize your body’s temperature as well as promote vasodilatation (expansion of the body’s blood vessels) it is recommended that 10 minutes of light exercise be performed post Whole Body CRYOtherapy. The movement will induce more rapid vasodilatation of the vessels and capillaries and can extend the period of analgesia as well as feelings of wellbeing.
How many treatments do I need?
When treating an injury, initially 5-10 treatments in close succession (1 per day) to maximise your results. Treatments are then as needed to maintain and improve on your results (1-3 per week).
For general recovery and wellness, 1-3 treatments per week are recommended.
This applies to all treatments offered.
